As the President of the European Law Institute it is my great pleasure to welcome you as an Individual Observer of the ELI. Our Members are a fundamental part of the Institute, providing the foundation of our current existence and the driving force behind future progress. The ELI is very proud of the diversity of its Members, who represent numerous professions and legal traditions, and come from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.
Since its inauguration, the ELI has started to lead a pan‐European conversation, engaging with individuals and institutions throughout the continent and beyond to make recommendations that will leave a lasting mark on the European legal landscape.
I invite you to take an active role in the Institute’s work by suggesting topics for projects through the ELI Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and collaborating with other Members on accepted initiatives.
